Malini Sen

Senior Editor – Education, The Times of India

Malini Sen joined the Times of India in 2005, and is currently a Senior Editor, focussing on education. She has a career spanning over 22 years of experience in the field of journalism, education and equal opportunities. Ms Sen has worked towards promoting race and gender equality and to transform communities through educational programming. Ms Sen heads Education Times, the education broadsheet of The Times of India with 28 editions nationally and also edits two books on education, Times Study Abroad and Times Higher. She assisted and reported for The Times of India’s Teach India campaign and played a key role in shaping the Times Scholar program. Prior to joining The Times of India, Ms Sen was a Publications and Production Officer at Open University, Milton Keynes (UK) and served as Assistant Editor for The Telegraph, Kolkata (India) from 1991-2000. Ms Sen completed both a Master’s in English (University of Delhi) and a Master’s in Gender Studies (University of Leeds). She has subsequently undertaken postgraduate work in User Interface Design and Evaluation with The Open University in the UK. She is also a Member of the Board of Directors, IC-IMPACTS (India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnerships to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability).
