María Eizaguirre obtained her B.A. (Hons) and MSc. in Anthropology from Durham University. She was then awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship (Linacre & Spain, 1994) to study at the University of Oxford, where she completed her Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology (1999). Following a Research Fellowship at University College, London UCL (1999), María Eizaguirre decided to start her career in the private sector. Her first job was in consumer insights and behavior at a research agency (Research International – 1999 – 2000), followed by a Strategic Planning position at an advertising agency (Young & Rubicam, 2000 – 2004) and finally on the client side at Kraft Foods (2004 – 2011) within the Consumer Insights & Strategy team (CIS). In her last position at Kraft, she was leading the Innovation CI function across the EU. María is currently Director of Insights & Strategy for IE Business School and IE University and Director of Marketing at IE University.
